Oh My Rockness puts on a sweet party! And it ain't even our birthday!

We're putting on a party Monday, March 15th at Santos Party House. It's like a pre-SXSW thing. The Depreciation Guild are playing before going down to Austin. So is Hanne Hukkelberg, Megaphonic Thrift, and Pirate Love. All those three bands are from Norway. So yes, this is another show we're putting on with our friends who do the Oya Festival in Oslo. I guess we just can't get enough of those guys.

We hope you'll come and hang out with us. Since it's a party, you can play "Pin the Tale on our Butt." But not really, because that would hurt. Maybe we can play "Bob for Happiness" instead? Anyway, here is more about the bands playing this thing.

If you don't know The Depreciation Guild yet, you should. Well, you shouldn't if you don't like sweet shoegaze with a little 8-bitness going on. I bet you know the drummer for The Pains of Being Pure at Heart is the singer in The Depreciation Guild though. This is a good band. We saw them play recently with The Drums and Surfer Blood and they DESTROYED!

You might know Hanne Hukkelberg by now. Hanne and her band create seductively sparse electro-folk-croon-pop. If that doesn't make any sense, better go see them play to clear it up. Hanne Hukkelberg played one of our shows in the past. And guess what? They DESTROYED!

You probably don't know Megaphonic Thrift. But you know Sonic Youth. And if you know Sonic Youth, and you like Sonic Youth, you will probably appreciate Megaphonic Thrift's noise punk pop. I'm not saying Magaphonic Thrift are Sonic Youth. I'm just saying I love you. This band DESTROYS!

Pirate Love. I'm going out on a limb and saying you don't know them at all. But you know adventure. And what's more adventurous than going to a show featuring a band you've never heard of? Well, besides eating cotton candy while swinging on a trapeze over molten lava, of course. That's pretty adventurous too. Did you like Blood Brothers? If so, you MIGHT like Pirate Love. But don't worry, this band will DESTROY!

BUY TICKETS TO THE OH MY ROCKNESS/OYA FESTIVAL PARTY AT SANTOS PARTY HOUSE!

The Depreciation Guild, Hanne Hukkelberg, Megaphonic Thrift, and Pirate Love play Santos Party House, on Monday, March 15th.
